Description

Victoriam rode on the god of the dragon-kings's back as he hiked along the forest. She gazed around the area, noticing the birds chirping, the rays of light beaming through the trees and the slight morning breeze. There was one question that lingered in the guardian's mind however. She called out to the god to ask.

"Ike..." she called out, " I want to ask you something." Ike never stopped walking and slightly turned his head to the guardian.

"Yes?" The divine dragon's voice was calm, patient, "what is it that you may ask?"

" Well..." Victoriam began, " I wanted to know, based on the legends of you... where exactly did you come from? Like were you created by a higher divine being, served to become the god, protector of your kind? Or did you rise up and become a "god" based on some sort of battle or competition? Were you considered as some sort of savior?"

Ike gave out a hearty laugh at Victoriam's curiosity.

" You're quite the curious mortal are you?" He chuckled. Victoriam blushed by his remark.

" I guess you can say..." she replied, " I mean, gods don't exist out of nowhere... do they?"

Well, this was sort of what I would think if my Guardian character Victoriam would meet

character, Ike (I realize that I do a lot of fan art for her... is that bad?). I had been kind of curious on the fact that Ike is the god of his species, the dragon kings, and wonder how this was the case... Maybe he was created by another divine being, perhaps a deity of life, and he, along with other gods (along with Kane, the god of the wolf-knights) were served to rule each of their kind. Or perhaps, he received god-hood through a battle, an accomplishment, or a set of challenges he would have to face (ideas for the Three Kings maybe?) in order to become a god. But hey, he isn't my character so I'll ask his creator this:

Even if i like this one , i would like to give you some tips <333
I really like the idea and the contrast between light and shading ^^
I dont know if you´re using a tablet , ( i hope so ) but when you do , i would recommend not to use the line tool that often. i see you use the line tool for about 90% and thats the reason , why it looks to rigid an less dynamic .
for example the fur , the wings hair ect.

The anatomy :
actually the anatomy looks right but the legs for ex. are way too thick. his body looks very strong but also elegant , but the legs should be thinner at the end :3
the other things like eyes and ears are your style markings and i will not change that ;3 only the placement of the eye of this little winged huy looks not right . too big and the shape of his face could get more accentuation.

The shading:
My Opinion . I hate smooth shading xD I think you could reach much more depth ,with cell shading because you can set more accents into little details , like bones , fur , muscles ect.
even if you add only one Layer cell , you can reach more depth and you can use smooth shading to make it look...yes , genius .. more smooth . cell looks very sharp ,so it would fit together great .
same with the highlight .
Also i miss details like reflections in hair , eyes and metal.
hrrrrr SO much opportunities to set more details xD

Background:
What i need to say ! Great , that youre not using photos as bgs ! its great and easy using textures for bbs , BUT ( i know , I´m evil) you used the texture without mentioning the shape of the tree . the texture is always the same , no matter if the branch is thicker or thinner. But you`ll learn that xD I would combine Texture ,with own drawn stuff . so thetransition between photo and art will be less noticeable. ( Thats , what i do ^^)
